Thread: Does anyone promote their business at Home Shows?

Question Does anyone promote their business at Home Shows?

    Hey all.....

We have been participating in a local home show for 5 years now and it is always pretty lucrative.
Booth price is $750 and we average about 15-20 jobs each year from it, so it is well worth it!

I am just looking to mix up things and keep our booth/display fresh new and interactive... (see attached picture of our booth last year)

I'd love to hear your experiences with home shows!

We plan on doing some Spring Home Shows in our area, and just ordered & received our new updated display. I'll post pictures of the new set up later.

This was our old display we used for trade shows.

We do 8 to 12 shows home shows every year. Most are in the Spring. They yield very well for us with as many as 100 estimates out of one show plus they keep leads coming in all season from those who take literature with.

Very nice displays everyone. I would think home shows would work very well for woodies. Something I'm going to put on my "to do" list.

I don't expect (going into these home shows) to get a tremendous amount of business from them. We're doing it more for business visibility and branding our business in the area. Any extra work comes from it, will just be icing on the cake.

I'm the exact opposite. We go in with a target goal in mind based on previous years numbers and I provide an incentive for every estimate SCHEDULED (not just names) by my staff working it. I spend a good deal of time out in the show as well but this is also a great time to train your up and comers in customer relations and sales.

Give me a show with at least 3000 attendees and we will pull the work out of it. It's generally just a numbers game if you put forth the effort to work the show.

There was also a post about networking a few days ago. Before and after the show or during slow weekdays we network. I've met some really wonderful people at these shows a couple of whom have become really great lifelong friends.

2 More home shows knocked out this weekend - 19 estimates from one and 8 from the other. 3 shows on the calender for next weekend.

Our local home show and the web site is all the advertising I do. We had the home show last weekend and it was better than the 2 previous years. Picked up maybe 20 estimates, but the website brings stuff in all year long. I agree with Guy, if all you're doing is local branding, then it's worth it. Just get your logo out there locally and everyone will know it..... just like the NBC peacock.

Pretty Happy with the way the new display turned out. Light, compact, and can be set up anywhere.

Thanks to Jim C. for his help!
