    Making your own Sodium Hypochlorite???

Has anyone made their own SH? Thinking a couple of pounds of pool shock has got to be cheaper than buying a 55 gal. drum of bleach every month. Feel free to tell me if I'm crazy for wanting to try it.

    Thanks

Thats not SH, thats calcium hypochlorite. You will have more issues having to make sure its fully dissolved..... Leaving residue... etc etc Stick with SH. If using SH affects your bottom line much at all , or is cost prohibitive when looking at your numbers then you def. arn't charging enough.

When you are looking at chemical cost sh is one of the cheapest things you will buy i agree with Jeff if you can spend the money on bleach time to move on to something else.Dont try to reinvent the wheel just buy it an move on.

I agree with Jeff & Hal......and again pool shock & SH are totally different as far as washing. No disrespect BP, but if you're only buying a drum a month, price should not be your first concern.......we've been through 2 drums a week for the last 3 weeks...... By May that will triple.......Focus on generating more work and you'll soon forget about the price of SH.
