Just finished a 2 story log home on Wednesday. Stripped, washed and stained. Doing the two decks attached to it over the next 2 days. No pics yet. Getting those once the decks are done.

    Steven,

Check with Beth and Rod over at The Grime Scene. They have worked on log homes for quite a few years.

Whatever happened to Jon Fife? Log structures was all his company worked on. Was quite active on the boards for years.

Jon is still very active in log homes. He and I have become close friends and stay in contact. He re-branded his company to 888-LOG-GUYS and is serving 6 or 7 states and is exploring franchising. He doesn't get on the forums anymore.

Log homes require more skillset than your average wood sided home. Pressure washing is not always the best answer as water intrusion through chinking is a big issue. Most guys use some type of blasting medium to remove failing finish.

Are you saying that there is another way to clean. My guys think that all you need to do is spray as much chlorine as you can and rince.

That works, too. That's why these days I stay with the simple stuff.

    Hey Ken,

Thanks. Tell Jon I said "howdy". Always liked his sense of humor.

All told, that is probably a good thing for him and his business. But he does have a lot of knowledge.

I was just wondering because I look and it says 44 threads and this is the only one. I wanted to look through them but there are none showing. Am I missing something?

When you open the sub forum, scroll down and search threads from beginning. You are only looking at threads from the last month right now.
