    Customer questions on Driveway "Streaks"

I received a text along with this pic from a customer I had cleaned a driveway for. As the pic shows, there are horizontal pattern stripes on the concrete. He suspected they were streaks from the cleaning. I see this a lot in these newer neighborhoods as they are the trowel marks from smoothing the driveway when it was poured. Luckily I was a to explain this to my customer, and he was totally fine with my answer. BUT....this could have gone a different way if a customer was insistent that the cleaning is what made these marks. These trowel patterns aren't always as noticeable on a dirty driveway, so any suggestions on how to set a customers expectation to a "possible exposure" of the marks?

    Thanks!

Save pictures you take and explain to customer what could be the outcome
before you do the job. Just a thought.

Second that! Make it a point to inform each and every customer of possible trowel marks when providing an estimate.

I like the pictures idea, seems like it could be a soft way to set the expectations. Thank you gentlemen.

It's from floating it with the long handle (bull float) float. When its new and finished correctly those lines and the aggregate are hidden by a thin top coat. As it wears off you can see the lines. Hey. I'm Italian. All my uncles were in the concrete business.
