    Timing pump

Hello guys.I have a Hydrotek pressure washer with a AR- 5 gal a minute pump.Anyone ever actually time the pressure washer pump with a car timing light to get the desired rpm for max gal and pressure ?? Most pumps are 1450 rpm. Thanks Adam

Tach is a lot easier. Not sure what you would do with a timing gun

My cog drive belt has a small cog pulley on the output shaft of the V Twin Vanguard and the cog pulley on the pump is about trice as large so you really cant use engine rpm for pump rpm timing.Pump timing at the desired rpm of 1450 is only achieved at the pump crankshaft pulley

Use a tach and then it's simple math to get the pump rpm. Or whatever floats your boat
