My FIRST commercial bid proposal.. Need HELP
« on: June 04, 2010, 04:16:50 PM »
Heey,

I am new... and i dont know what to dooooo... (joe dirt quote)...

I have a bid on 8 gas stations in about a 50 mile radius, they are wanting the pads and sidewalks done at each station once a month for the warm months probably thru October for now (I am hoping to extend it to a full year, giving him the benefits of all year round cleaning, as soon as I know what those are, lol..)

So basically I have a total of 40 jobs I need to get done now thru October. I have no contract forms at this time, and have no idea how to make one, so I am needing some help on this, basically up till now, I have only been doing some small residential jobs with a small pressure washer, and plan to upgrade to a decent rig if I am able to land this contract.

My main questions are going to be, how much should I charge, or how should I go about deciding what to charge, how do I put together a good contract, how much should I ask for upfront?

I have extensive experience in sales and marketing, so I have no issues with presentation and closing and actually enjoy that process, so that I wont need help with, I just need help with putting together what I am going to present to close the deal.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, and SOOOOOON.. as I will probably be submitting my proposal on Monday.

Thanks in Advance..

Not that I want to be a jerk or anything, I am new to this, and basically being that I am new, and all of the stuff I have read on all of these forums.. I DONT TRUST ANYONE, lol..

Again, not being a jerk, but I dont wish to disclose my location on here, I dont trust ANYONE currently, like I said after I have read the stuff that I have on these forums, if I say my location (not that it wouldnt be hard to figure out, lol), but either way, im afraid someone will use that information of my location to figure out what I am bidding on and to jump in and enter a competitive proposal, and then I wouldnt have a chance.

I am not saying you would do this, but until I figure everyone on these forums out, and decide if I can trust people on them, again, from what I read about some people on these forums.. posted by their peers, I have no idea if I can or cant, lol..

This is why I dont wish to disclose my info openly.  If someone wishes to take the time to figure it out, which wouldnt be hard, then so be it..

Im sure most on these forums are great people, but I have to learn that for myself I guess..

But I will say, INDIANA, lol..

Well I didnt mean to make anyone mad...

A hack I am not, I never said I didnt know how to do the job, I believe I was requesting help with a proposal....

A newbie I am, and I do need more experience and am will and wanting to learn more, and always will want to learn more, because there is always more to learn no matter how much you know...

As for respect..  That is earned.. and I have read a lot of information on many of these pressure washing forums, and as I said, from what I read, I wont trust or as bigpoppa stated respect someone until I know them.

There seems to be a lot of people who get mad easily on these forums and get very defensive, and start pointing fingers, and start calling names and all that..  I am an adult, I am trying to run a business and these forums seems to be the best place to get information, but I am not into the politics of groups like this.  I love reading the good information, but seems a lot of post turn to some battle of some sort shortly into it, lol.. but once you weed through all of that, there is usually some good information to be found.  And this is true of all of the forums I have joined so far, not just one.

I am new, I want to get established, and the way to do it is to get the jobs, and currently I want every job I can get, and dont wish to give away what I may have a chance of getting, now if it turns out I cant get it, or its a job that I am unable to do, then I would be glad to share it with any and all, so they could have the opportunity to have it.

And Jason, again, sorry if I offended you, wasnt out to do so, and well.. Im not a hack, and if you dont wish to share any information with me, thats fine, but really no reason to automatically assume I am a HACK in your neck of the woods..

Thanks and anyone who would like to help out, I still would like to find an example proposal..

Thanks

Jude

Yes I have made the same first post on all of the forums I joined.  I dont know if all the same members are on all of the forums, just looking everywhere I can for help.

If you dont wish to help, that is fine.

If NO ONE from INDIANA wishes to help, because I might be in "your back yard" that too is fine, there are many of you no where near me, who may wish to help..

Thanks again
