Go ahead and buy 2 reels, 1 for supply, 1 for pressure and stack them. You'll be glad you did.

Having reels falls right behind owning a pressure washer. Its mandatory for efficiency and will pay for itself in very short time. I see guys rolling hose in contests and I have had some guys that can do it fast but for most people the hose ends up twisting and has to be played out. Not to mention, it just looks more professional.

I am a greenhorn here. Still waiting to do my first wash. But anyway, I bought a used rig to get started. And was told that if you don't have a water pump between the tank and your pressure washer that the pump company's didn't want to stand behind their pumps. So mine has a Honda wx10 between the tank and pump to pump the water out of the tank. I do know that when I set it up I can turn the wx10 up and when I squeeze the trigger I can barely hear the pressure washer motor change sound. And when it isn't running I can hear it moan quite a bit more. I am not sure if the info on the pump not being there can cause a pump manufacture not to warrant their pumps is true or not but this is what the guy told me. Here is a link to the pump, mine is a little bit older but it works pretty good..........http://www.hondapowerequipment.com/products/modeldetail.aspx?page=modeldetail&section=P2WP&modelname=WX10&modelid=WX10K1AT

Billy,
That is a very nice pump, but I don't think you need it.   If the pressure washer was working without it, and it wasn't pulsating or cavitating, then I don't think you needed the inline pump.  The noise you hear when you pull the trigger is your unloader switching over.  The pump doesn't really care whether you are pulling the trigger or not.  Which pressure washer pump do you have?

I have a gp pump @ 5.5 gpm. And this pump was already part of the outfit. But if it isn't really needed then why waste the gas, right? He had just told me that it was to help warrant the warranty of the pressure pump so I left it in there. I really wish you could push chems with it though.

If you have a general pump that is new enough that it has a warranty still, then I cannot imagine that it is incapable of drawing water.  There are several more knowledgeable guys and gals here.  I am sure one of them will chime in if I am wrong.
