Fleet Prices
« on: August 15, 2007, 02:21:04 PM »
I have been asked to bid on 51 dump trucks. 10 tri's, 37 quads and 4 18 wheelers.
It's basically soap on and rinse off, with minimal brushing.
I have no idea what the going rate for these are.
Any help on this would be great.
Thanks in advance
David

David,I would wash a couple to see how long it would take making sure I met my predtermined target hourly rate per number of trucks washed and factor that in with how often they're gonna be washed.Something else to consider would be how they are all arranged so you can get a good system down.I've found fleet prices to be all over the place.Good luck!

How frequently do they want them washed? Or is it just a one time deal?

My bad.
They want 15 to 20 done every week, they rotate them in.
They space them out according to a couple of drivers I spoke with.
I just couldn't get an inside scoop on price. They have someone
doing them now, so I think he might me priced shopping.

Unless you have some special soap that does not require brushing on them.... dump trucks get dirty... very dirty lol.  But if the person who wants them washed is not looking for them to come out sparkling clean then that is ok.
I would do as others have said and go out and try a few of them and see how long it takes you to get them clean to their standards.
Then depending on if they have water on site, and how often they want them cleaned that will determine the price.
I would say for the 18 wheelers $15 for the tractor's if non sleepers $25-$35 on the trailers depending on how clean they want them.
And on the others I would say between $20-$35 each depending on all the other factors

So would that be that they are getting washed about once a month then give or take?  If that is the case the rates would be a little higher then what I stated.

You could review the delco price guide here: http://www.dcs1.com/del/pricing.html

Job sounds familiar to a recent tgs thread: http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/planes-trains-automobiles-boats-trucks-too/11322-reasonable-price.html

The two Scott's or Russ here on Pt will probably jump in shortly with a bit more..
