Ran many a flojet for years and a couple dele's.

Had uhaul wire up with fuse to a commecial 5prong at my rear bumper.
Pumps were always mounted upside down (use plastic zip ties) on railing of trailer. I have ran thousands of gallons of juice this way with no problems.

We dubbed the term "dooshing" the pump out when it loses its prime or sucks up something. Just use a garden hose at your feed line and open her up and push it through.

good luck

That's what I do, but I just called it "Flushing".  I like yours better.  Time to update the SOP manual.

Tip..... All know that I had mounted my Delavan in a boat box upside down. Just a neat way to keep pump upside down and simple place for switch to be mounted and keep pump out of weather. Anyhow, recently had a hose come un-done at barb on outlet side INSIDE box. Filled the box full and submerged pump in roof strength LOVE.

We drained box, hooked it all back up and it actually worked afterwards. That pump is awsome.

Lesson.... If you mounted in a box, like mine, drill drain holes... LOL

Great idea Michael, kind of reminds me of Shane's "Bucketster".  hahaha

He sure did some great work like that. Wonder how he is doing.
