The HOA that its for is mine

so i know some of the guys on the board. I know I'm a little low for my area but not by a lot. getting much More than $3 is very rare. But the plus here is i get some good advertising. On their webpage and a sign out front for a week after job is complete.
I really don't know if i will get it or not. If i were to judge by the guys they had come repair the fence last fall i would be hard pressed.. no shirts maybe a 1960's era rust bucket truck you know the look. Who knows its a pretty big learning curve out here.
Doug,
Would those $3 (.50) guys be using wtw priced product or even cleaning worth a darn? (btw, your 5k figure is $2.94 (.49) counting stain but maybe yer not counting the brick sections)
I've had bids here that I couldn't get $2 (.40) rate for but I know better than to go there. Those low deals are just a quik spray of a preservative or such.
Thing I see important for you would be to get your costs down if your gonna do 50 cents. Most stain products usually demand another day of ones schedule for wood to dry and but in using the wet product it does not make up for the gains one can have with a more economical product. Based on the hour numbers I gave you can gain about $27.96 more per hour if weighing the two products mentioned so far. (your wtw use=2145/29=$73.96 per hour to use..tax included?.........using my Omax figures= 1342/29=$46.27 per hour to use tax included) If you pick the higher one over the lower you throw away $810.84 profit. You could be making $126 per hour instead of $98 on this.
Don't get me wrong though.. I luv them Wtw or woodrich products and will use but I know I have to use them on customers willing to pay my labor rate as well as the premium stain rate. When doing decks I most often break it up. They are not your typical slop the fence customers..
Hope the figures help.
