Scappy, Your small enough to be a greaser.

Ron...I'm 6'2" @ 210...to most people not considered small, and I have no problems :D  But you are correct, the smaller the better, you can really get around in some of those hard to reach places.

Ant, your large guy. I met Trey, hes not exactly Small. Phil has a really tiny instructor I met in Las vegas years back. i would say he was ideal small person.

OK so here's how I am going to propose this. You would have to be at least 300 miles from the GP member that is going to show you the ropes. Obviously there are guys that are going to want you to at least be out of their service area, which in some cases could be more than 300, and some that could give a hoot if you live next door to them.

The idea would be that you bring YOUR equipment to the jobs and he teaches you how to clean hoods with what you already have. I'm sure most of you guys carry plastic so the main things you would need to buy are probably scrapers and clamps, and they can show you where to get that stuff cheap. When we get it together, we will have a basic list of what you should bring.

You do not need all the fancy stuff we have to clean hoods, and probably 80% of the work that we do is just as dirty as what you guys are already doing.

I have seen guys get trained with other guys tools and never once have I seen it be truly successful. This is a new concept (i think) and it will be a test run, so if you guys are interested, I will have the web guy put up a sign up sheet on GP.org and see if we cant help you guys out a bit.

One last thing, and I honestly do not mean any disrespect to anyone here, but I have gotten requests for my company to train guys and I have to say that I can not offer that service. Anthony is just around the corner from me and he is 1) A much better hood cleaner than I ever was and 2) Much better equipped to take on this task. I am sure he won't mind throwing his hat in the ring for this.

I know this is an old thread, but has there been any more talk of this?

I don't think so.

People took advantage (someone always does) and ruined it.  Some of the mentors took big hits.
