Kevin, KILLING and REMOVING are two different things.
I can't get paid if I say "Ms Customer, the chit on your roof is dead" and it isn't gone.
Yes, it should eventually rinse away.
It is NOT the hyperchlorus acid that CLEANS, as I previously believed, it is the Hyperchlorite ION, and THAT is more active at a higher PH.
The Hyperchlorus Acid disinfects and Kills.
Ya know, I have two tanks on my truck, one could be a wicked high PH mix with Sodium Hydroxide, TSP and Chlorine, and one could be an acidified tank of Chlorine/water.
First ya clean with the high PH mix, THEN ya hit it with the low PH acidified chlorine
Naw, the addition of theb Isopropyl Alchol and surfactant works terrific.
I am not "abandoning Apple Sauce".
It still works good.
Just trying to make something that is easier to make.
I developed and tested Apple sauce entirely on my own.
Now, we have all these fellow cleaners out here.
Maybe if we ALL put our heads together, we could all come up with an improved mix ?

Ok, too many responses to handle individually, so here is the Theory http://www.freepatentsonline.com/5376296.html
So far, we have found that 1 to 2 percent Isopropyl Alcohol to be optimum.
This means 1 to 2 gallons per hundred galons of mix.
Ace Hardware has Gallons of Isopropyl I am told, we get ours from Chem Supply.
Mix should be 35 Gallons Sodium Hypochlorite, 63 Gallons water, and 1 to 2 gallons Isopropyl Alcohol for 100 gallons mix
Laurel Betaine is the preferred surfactant, but Ajax dish soap, NOT Ajax dish AND Hand Soap seems to work ok.
Ajax is the dish soap with the highest percentage of Ethanol.
Be sure cap is ventilated, and do NOT think "if some is good, MORE is better"
It MAY be, but I must caution you, you could make a Bomb and go BOOM.
This a a more "pump friendly" mix then regular Apple Sauce.
Because it cleans so well, I have NOT tried this mix with TSP added.
It seemed un necessary.
The surfactant in the Ajax cleaned nicely.
But WTF, why dont someone try it with, and w/o TSP ?
If adding TSP, you dont really need the Ajax.I suggest 4 ounces TSP per gallon of total mix.

Congrats Chris on your recent understandings of chemistry.

Were all of your "beta testers" for the original botched version of applesauce noobies?
One would think an experienced roof cleaner would pick this up.

Glad to see you are at it again Chris.
How much faster does the new additions you found on the net make 35 gallons of SHC  clean faster?

I mean 35 gallons of SHC don't need any help. We use 30 gallons to 100 in our mix when it is at its strongest concentrations of SHC and we clean a few roofs a day.

We did 6 roofs in one day a couple weeks ago chris.
We have 2 today to do this afternoon.

heck 35 gallons alone without tsp or any soap would clean very effectively and fast. Looks like another unnecessary addition???

I know you are good friends with Don.
I'm sure he would love to have a faster solution? Has he tried it out? Or anybody that cleans as many roofs
as Don or someone like ourselves?

Read this thread http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/up-roof-asphalt-tile-shake-cleaning/12751-i-wrong.html#post125240, pay attention to post 12.
Apple Sauce cleans better then JUST SH and Water.
My new Sauce is simply an ALTERNATIVE for those who want an easy to make mix,, that is more pump friendly.
Many are are using the Bleach Bandit, and a piece of undissolved TSP or Borax can wreak havoc with a rolller pump.

I pull from the TOP of my tanks with a strainer, thus Apple sauce is not a "problem" for me.

If YOU had the experience teaching roof cleaners from all over the country I do, then you would realize that 30 percent SH bought in places OTHER then Florida don't clean very well.
The SH WE get here in FL is an exception, it is fresh and  VERY HOT.
Not so for most of the people I talk to.
That is why they need 35 percent.
Many times, the SH they get up north is OLD and WEAK in comparasion to what we get, and they can always adjust it down if it is hot.
When I buy chemical at places OTHER then Chucks, I adjust my chemical ratio to compensate.
I though 35 percent SH, based on years of experience with hundreds of roof cleaners all over the country was a good starting point.

Chuck mentioned you were in to buy a LITTLE Chemical last week Thomas, certainly NO WHERE NEAR what we buy, and hardly enough to support your "6 roofs in one day story"
Oh, I know, you are "buying your chlorine somewhere else",
Yeah, right ....  and THAT is why you just happened to stop in at Chucks place to buy a few gallons last week  ;)
You are a NEWBIE compared to me Thomas, and a disrespectful one at that.
Like a dumb azz, I showed you what pump to use, sold you almost new,  used Hose, at 1/3 the price when I wanted to try the Mean Green, lent you telescopic wands, and sent, or TRIED to send you work.
Dont even TRY to place yourself in the same category as me as a roof cleaner, or in the amount of roofs you supposedly "do"
I was cleaning roofs and teaching it when you were teaching Golf.
You are a Local Competitor who has some Misguided notion that I am ONLY teaching roof cleaning for "web hits".
You accused me before of "selling out the business I love for web hits"
Ignoring the fact that the Apple Sauce formula and most of what I know is on ALL the forums.
Thus, there is NO NEED for any I teach to visit my web site for ANY roof cleaning info.
If The formula has helped anyone, it is the forum owners

And so, perhaps you THINK that if you "discredit me" YOUR web site will be number one ?
You called yourself an "Alpha Dickhead Male" once in a thread, and I will agree with part of that.

Use what YOU want Thomas, I have no "vested interest" in anyone using Apple Sauce, or any variation thereof.
I make ZERO DOLLARS on it.
The beta testers are doing so because THEY WANT TO.
No one is twisting anyones arm.

I posted the US Patent where I found this information, and have tried it myself, and so have several Beta Testers.
It works, but you dont really care if it does or it doesnt Thomas.
Your real "purpose in life lately" seems to be to TRY and discredit everything I do, for reasons known only to yourself.
