Thad, the issue was lack of information.Mike Dennis helped me immensely, but somewhere in the lines of communication, a few things were omitted. The pump worked great for 2 minutes, then I heard a loud crack. I looked over to see the pump smoking and the wires on fire, cinged like a flamebroiled whopper. Per Bob, here are a few suggestions:
1. The 12 volt battery needs to be at least 600 amps. Mine was 125.
2. Gator clips are not recommended, as they can't transmit the voltage correctly. I used the clips.
3. The wires need to be bolted to the battery, not just clipped.
4. The pressure switch on the pump will need to adjusted to ensure constant flow. If the pump is whining like a little girl, then something is wrong!
