I was definitely not trying to discourage you in this venture...with the residential customer base you have, that alone should land you a significant amount of business...like I said I started out with a similar machine and did ok..the main thing is knowing exactly what you are doing and the correct way of doing it, this will seperate you from the hacks...from your posts it is obvious you have a lot of business sense so making this thing a success looks good...the only advice I offered was for you to realize that these 2 types of business have very similar busy and slow times..just plan accordingly...good luck and let us know how it goes

Well let me update you guys on things.   As you can see I am proceeding with the business. I purchased a trailer and additional equipment from Bob.  In Feb I will put my trailer together.  Im sure Ill need some advice at that point.

My schedule for working the 2 businesses will be:  Lawn care on Mon. Tues and Wed.  (Myself and 2 Employees).  3 Trucks over 3 days will cover all the lawns.  Thu I will do PW and my employee will do office work and lawn sales.  Fri I will do PW and employee will do whatever needs to get done. (backup).  Sat I will do sales for both business.  Sat will also be a backup day should it rain on a weekday.  The 2nd good employee for m/t/w will be the key here.   If lawn business has problems then all PW gets put on hold until the lawn biz problem is resolved.  The equipment is paid for and will not go bad.

Looking foward to the spring!!

Depending on which ones, that is a good thing.  Getting banned from one in particular is a badge of honor...
