I had a lady call today and would like two trailer interiors cleaned M-F with 2 extras on Friday. The problem is that they can only be done at noon.

I was thinking that I would pass on this due mainly to the time that they need to be washed. It would hinder us greatly on other jobs.

The benefit is that it would be a very small but steady paycheck...

What do you guys think?

Look at the numbers.  Which makes more money.  If the job disrupts schedule and reduces revenue, pass on it.

Are you talking about just vacuuming the interior or steaming cleaning the interior. If your just vacuuming and armor all the interior shouldnt take you no more then 20 mins each for the inside of the truck.

We call this a refresh.... includes vacuum, windows, armor all, smell good amd wash with spot free water. Takes us around 25-30 to complete and we charge $65.00

If the interior needs to be steamed cleaned we charge $55.00 more and only adds about 15 mins to the time.

It's not that we do not know how to do the work, it is the fact that it is such small grossing contract smack dab in the middle of the day that makes it inconvenient.

I would need a second unit to make it even a little plausible.
It would gross us approximately 39000$ yearly, however my labour cost would at minimum be 35% labour at 12480$ (not including taxes and WCB) then there are all the other costs associated with doing the work.

Personally, I hate doing any work that runs us more than 15% labour!

Labor is just en expense item.  If net - expenses is was profitable, would you buy more bleach?  Of course.  If net - labor is profitable, hire more labor.

Well, I said no. My goodness that was hard to do, I hate nothing more than turning down money! I did make sure to let her know how hard I tried to make it work first.

She says she may still call us if she can get a little leeway on their end.

I wouldn't even hesitate if we could make it first thing in the AM oreven late at night!
