Good one!  I think what he meant to say is the unloader/bypass/intake is a one piece hunk of crap...  I will give it that at least it's not integrated in the head, but still a cheapie....

It's a Chonda  pass pass pass. It looks cool and compact, and it looks like a real unit.
But........ I believe you can find better equipment to spend your hard earned $$$ on.

I dont think thats a honda.  Ive never seen honda label their engines with horsepower.

It still lists the CC rating though.  This might actually be a good spare cold unit for somebody in Florida.  Is that a Cat pump?  It's blue, but it doesn't have the Cat shape.  I'm not a pump guy.

Back a few years ago, the FTC decided that horsepower was an arbitrary number, and could vary depending on the equipment, the usage of the machine, altitude, quality of gas, etc, etc. (whatever they wanted to blame). So manufacturers have to label engines differently. Honda uses the cc displacement for their model number (more room for the PC crowd to bitch, a GX390 is only 389 cc), and Briggs uses gross torque output for their model number. I believe this rule only applies to smaller (under 16 hp) displacement engines.

Yeah, Mike, that's a Cat...a 4SF. One of the best they made. I've seen them run for years with no problems whatsoever. Unlike normal direct drive plunger pumps, those things will draw water very efficiently. It's a flow through design, the water comes in through the back, flows through the piston, then out the front. That's what always made cup pumps draw easier. (Now somebody's gonna ask what a cup pump is).

Thanks Russ, then it's probably a really good deal if actually goes near $199.  Not worth local pickup from Ohio to Florida though.
