Address Generator
« on: February 07, 2010, 09:33:50 AM »
I had an idea for generating addresses to export to Word for mailings, but I am not sure if the function is available either through Google Earth, Bing Maps (Virtual Earth), or Google Earth Pro.  I want to be able to highlight a neighborhood from satelite imagery and generate a list of all of the addresses in that neighborhood.  I want to target specific neighborhoods for my mailings.  The idea being that maybe I can save time by scheduling multiples in the same neighborhoods, also to focus on houses in the markets I think will be most desirable.  I know I can take the street names, run them through my county auditor's website, and generate mailings that way, but I thought someone here might know a better method using maps.  Thanks.

Bob, the spell check knows "mullet, but not Google."

FYI guys, and gals, contol-Z does work in the BB for edit-undo.  Just found that out, maybe you already know.

If you are wanting to target entire streets or neighborhoods, the best way is to have your mailing company do carrier routes. It is the least expensive list and postage.

Do you mean the Post Office or just a regular mailing company? I ask becuase I wondered the same exact thing. Only the different streets, subdivisions etc. were in different towns.

Needs to be the mailing co because the address needs to be printed on the piece which the post office doesn't do.

You can find the individual routes on Mellisadata.com for free.
