Hard time finding new business

I am trying to find new commercial customers, and it is kicking my butt. There are so many deifferent places and people to call, and no one seems to be able to be reached. I don't want to be annoying, but at the same time, you can't just give up and stop trying to contact someone, until they tell you that they don't want your service. It's hard out there the last couple of weeks. Just wanted to vent, and maybe get some ideas from you guys.

Bobby, if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. Consistency pays off. Hearing 8 no's in a row may be crushing but the ninth and tenth customers are the ones that pay the bills. Don't quit what you are doing.

+1  And remember that commercial customers pay regularly so you can invest more time in the sales cycle. If you pound on 100 doors and only add one new commercial customer a week, that's 52 regular customers a year.  If they are monthly customers with a $250 average ticket that's $156k/yr gross. Repeat for 3 years, and you've got a $500k business.

Not bad for a 99% failure rate...

I need to really sit down and figure out a plan that I can offer for commercial customers beyond a one-time cleaning. I'd love to grip the repeat business... I just don't have that experience yet. How often do you guys do repeat cleaning?? Once a month, quarterly...?
