What should I use on this?
« on: February 27, 2010, 08:24:31 PM »
Hey folks, wondering what will be the best chems to use on this deck to strip off the remainder of this failing stain.  The HO is not sure what brand was used since the deck was already stained when they purchased the house.  Thanks.

F-18 at 8 oz per gallon and minimal dwell time. Be sure to follow with F-8 at 2-3 oz per gallon. (or mix it at 12 oz per gallon and downstream). When mixing acid at 12 oz per gallon, use warm water.

Thanks guys, I figured the F-18 for the job but I was beginning to wonder what the difference is between that and the HD-80 from the sealer store.  Have you used it before?

HD80 is stronger (hotter) and is good for more difficult strips. Because it is hotter it can also cause more furring of the wood.
