TS2021 Oil Change
« on: March 05, 2010, 01:05:57 PM »
I must be blind!!!

I need to change the oil in my pump but I cant seem to find the drain plug. Anyone with this pump could you please tell me where its located.... I have to exploded diagram but it says nothing about a drain plug. Also what oil is good for these pumps? 5w?30w?

Thanks for the help.

The drain plug is on the bottom lower right side of the pump. It's diagonal from where the pulley is. I think it takes a 3/4" or 11/16" open end wrench to get it off with.

Hope this helps.

When you say bottom right, do you mean its on the side or bottom off the pump? I think I know which one you are talking about but I am not near my machine to go look.

Also what oil?

Thanks

It's low on the crankcase cover. Takes a 17 mm, 11/16" is close enough. Use eithere General Pump oil or 30 wt non-detergent. Fill to halfway up the sight glass, or to the top of the notch on the dipstick.

Interesting...I tried that and it turned white and foamy on the first job. Replaced it with GP oil  and it worked fine since. (thought I had a crack in the head...)
